Adopt-A-Dentist Program:

Through the Oklahoma Dental Association (ODA), SHL is implementing an Adopt-a-Dentist program similar to our Adopt-a-Doc program.

ODA will recruit volunteer dentists to serve as “adopted” dentist(s) for each participating SHL school. The dentist(s) can make oral health presentations and can also assist each school in making arrangements for emergency dental care for low income students who have no financial resources for treatment.

The number of times a dentist visits each school will depend on the schools size, specific needs, scheduling issues, etc. ODA will develop and/or purchase the necessary oral health educational materials for the schools as needed.
